I would go that route, I think. Even if your son can't/won't drink out of a straw, you could put it in whatever he usually takes his milk in.

ETA: I'm not sure they have whole as an option. I just saw online that Whole Foods has a brand called "Organic Valley" and they have shelf-stable whole milk.

Check the link here to see them. Congrats on your wrap - we loved ours as well, and once baby outgrew it, I searched for other types of carriers and found www.thebabywearer.com which is a great resource for learning about carriers of all types (including the wrap you currently have), how to use them, where to buy them, etc.

Fun2Dream2010-05-07T00:55:15Z2010-05-07T00:55:15Z
I found that the best way to hold my newborn was in a baby carrier, particularly a wrap, such as the Moby wrap. Since they (generally) like to be held a lot as newborns, safe carriers allow you the closeness, but also enable you to do things other than JUST hold the baby. http://moms4mom.com/questions/3470/how-long-until-your-baby-child-outgrew-dairy-sensitivitiesHow long until your baby/child outgrew dairy sensitivities? Fun2Dream2010-01-01T19:10:11Z2010-04-05T01:22:25Z

Our 5 month old daughter appears to have dairy sensitivities - when I eat dairy, her dirty diapers become mucousy. Eliminating dairy has eliminated the problem. It seems like a mild case of a dairy sensitivity. How long until she will likely outgrow this? Also, am I doing any harm to her by eating dairy occasionally? She doesn't get fussy or anything when I eat it - she just has the messy diapers.

http://moms4mom.com/questions/4537/how-warm-should-babys-environment-be/4539#4539Answer by Fun2Dream for How warm should baby's environment be?Fun2Dream2010-03-07T02:21:33Z2010-03-07T02:21:33Z
We asked this same question at one of our first pediatrician visits. The doctor reminded us that different cultures tend to keep their homes at different temperatures. We were told that letting a baby get too warm is more of a concern than letting her get too cold. The reasoning being that a warm baby is more at risk for SIDS. The advice she gave was that the baby's hands should be slightly cool, neither cold nor warm. For us, that meant keeping our house in the upper 60 and lower 70 degree Fahrenheit range, and keeping baby in one-piece pajamas with feet while in our house (even though she was born in August). We tried to keep the house comfortable for us, and adjusted her clothing as necessary to keep her comfortable also.

http://moms4mom.com/questions/4483/does-sleep-beget-sleepDoes sleep beget sleep?Fun2Dream2010-03-01T23:13:08Z2010-03-02T17:30:52Z

It seems that all the books I read on sleep including Dr. Sears' Sleep Book and the No Cry Sleep Solution suggest that "sleep begets sleep" meaning good naps = good night time sleep. For us, it seems the opposite is true. If our 7 month old daughter sleeps 2-3 hours in the morning for her first nap and has 2 more hour-long naps, she has a rough night. If she has 3 1-hour naps, she has a much better night.

Are there any studies showing either of these to be true? What have been your experiences?

And, if good night-time sleep is our goal, should I wake our daughter after an hour or 90 minutes during her first nap?

http://moms4mom.com/questions/4396/how-long-after-birth-can-a-baby-be-taken-out-of-the-house-with-you/4398#4398Answer by Fun2Dream for How long after birth can a baby be taken out of the house with you?Fun2Dream2010-02-23T03:53:04Z2010-02-23T03:53:04Z
For me personally, it depends on the time of year (and whether there's a flu pandemic going on or not...). If my baby were born in winter, I would be more hesitant and wait a couple of weeks until going out. If I went out at all, I would definitely wear the baby in a wrap to keep strangers at bay.

I'm less worried about summer babies catching colds, etc. I'd be more willing to take them out earlier. Still, I would (and did) wear my baby at that stage as often as possible to keep strangers away as much as possible - no need to "fuel the fire" so to speak!

Last time we went, someone brought a Wii and we played Rock Band all together, which was fun, but not ideal for beach time. Though, not bad for a rainy afternoon ;)

We also like to cook while we're at the beach, so getting the kids involved with helping prepare a meal or a dessert might be fun.

If your beach allows it, a bonfire and roasting hot dogs and/or marshmallows, telling stories around the fire, and if anyone is musically inclined, singing songs and playing instruments (like a guitar, for instance) is always fun too.

Although I've never installed a convertible seat, for our infant seat, I have to actually sit on the seat (i.e. put ALL of my weight on it).

Also, I'm sure you're not running into this problem since you've installed other seats in this car (presumably), but when I rented a car once, I tried to use the LATCH and wound up trying to connect the carseat LATCH system to some other bars in the seat that weren't actually the LATCH anchors. So, my advice here is to make sure you're attaching to the right anchors.

http://moms4mom.com/questions/4375/feeding-schedule-for-2-month-old/4378#4378Answer by Fun2Dream for Feeding Schedule for 2 month oldFun2Dream2010-02-22T02:34:32Z2010-02-22T02:34:32Z
I breastfeed, so it may be different, but my practice has always been offer the baby a chance to eat when she seems hungry - if she eats, she is. If she doesn't, she isn't. This article says that a 2 month old formula-fed baby will eat 4-5 oz per feeding.

It also says this about spitting up:

Spitting up a small amount — less than 1 ounce (30 ml) — shouldn't be a concern as long as it happens within an hour of feeding and doesn't bother the baby.

Also, www.babycenter.com says "The peak age for spitting up is 4 months." which says to me that it isn't uncommon for a two month old to spit up more than a one month old, and a three month old more than a two month old, etc. I'm not sure if that's what they meant exactly, but that's my interpretation. You can read the full article here.

Also, offer the breast more frequently than just when the baby is obviously hungry. It may feel like your wife is breastfeeding CONSTANTLY, but it can do wonders for supply issues.

We use cloth diapers so any soiled clothing goes into the diaper pail and is washed with the diapers. However, we have had some staining that has not come out, so if it's a really nice outfit or if it's not just "play clothes" then I would probably go ahead and run a load of laundry.

We "load" it for her, and hand it to her, and she either puts it in her mouth or doesn't - whatever she chooses. So, in my opinion, you can start giving them a spoon with food on it as soon as you start giving them solids.

Be sure to check the owner's manual. We could not keep a car seat secure in the 2-door coupe we recently traded in because the seatbelt would come loose. It was much safer to keep our daughter behind the passenger seat since we could get a secure install using the LATCH system. Our new car (Mazda5) does not have rear middle seats, so we also use the outboard position in it.

If you have a good quality carrier, it shouldn't hurt your back, and especially if you use it in a couple of different carries (front carry sometimes and back carry sometimes, for instance). I rarely get backaches from wearing my baby - and we even went hiking in the Smokey Mountains on our recent trip.
