My son is 2 years old and weighs 38 pounds I am thinking this is too much, he is way bigger then most kids around his age. He acts like a three year old does, and I am kind of worried if he is going to grow up to be a little on the big side. |
Only your pediatrician can tell you for certain. Have you asked? It also completely depends on how tall he is. It's the weight/height ratio which counts. I'm guessing when you say he is "way bigger" you mean taller? There is another related question which might help you here: 2
+1 - need to look at a growth chart of height vs. weight and if you're way outside the normal range, maybe talk to a pediatrician.

I think he sounds like he is at a good weight. My fiances cousin is 1 and weighs 21 pounds. Yet my 5 year old niece weighs 30 pounds. I think you are doing a great job and he will even out as he gets a little older. My cousin is 4 now. but when she was 2 1/2 she weighed more than my niece who was 3 1/2 at the time. now my cousins weight has evened out now that she is more active than she used to be. I wouldnt be to worried. I hope this helps. |
Even my cousin LO was 36.5 inches and 30lbs at his 2 year appointment, 2 months ago, he's 26 months now. Their pediatrician always says as long as he in a higher percent tile for height than weight he's good. I think to consult your pediatrician regarding this. |
Hello... My daughter is two years old shes 3ft tall and weights 40lb I am a lil concern. What can I do? |
It depends on the height to. My 2 year old son weighs 41 pounds ( 97th percentile) and he's in the 99th percentile for height. Yes he's on the " larger side " but he's not fat at all, his weight doesn't show due to how tall he is. He wears a 5t and looks strong!!:) think of it as showing off how healthy your little one is. I due occasionally get the stink eye from people,I'm assuming because they expect more out of him (thinking he's older) I just strug it off |
