My 3 year old son has been enrolled in summer day camp with his older 6 year old brother. There aren't very many children at the location so each kid gets alot of individual attention. This was their second day and at the arrival to the daycare facility he instantly started crying saying he doesn't want to go. We got him inside and I sat with him for a minute and talked with him as did his big brother. We told him how much fun they will have and whatnot. We walked him over to a box of toys and he stopped crying and I was able to leave without worrying.

This is his first time at a daycare. The boys have split time with their father and myself. Their father drops my 3 year old off to whoever will watch him during the day while my oldest is in school. He always has someone's individual attention and can do what he wants all day. Also during the summer I have two weeks and their father has 2 weeks and it continues like that. Their father cannot afford daycare so they will only be enrolled every other two weeks.

I think I did the right thing. But in case it gets worse I need some advice as to how to handle it.
