Recovery time from childbirth

We were told to wait until after the 6 Week appointment, where my doctor told me all was fine, and we could resume our activities!!

We were told to wait 6 weeks. At 6 weeks, I had an appointment and the doctor gave us the go ahead. I am pretty sure your doctor will let you know as you are recovering!

Our obstetrician recommended 40 days. the famomus "quarentene"

I was told to wait 6 weeks after both births, although i waited longer as i had a 3rd degree tear with the first and an emergency c-section with the second, belive it or not the recovery was a lot quicker from the c-section. I think it helps if your partner is understanding and patient, coz its quite scary the first time after giving birth (in my experience), but friends that have had natural births have said its no problem.
