I can't help but notice that the references and language and spelling of the questions and answers indicate a US author. Seems to be more so than other sites. Any idea why so many users from these areas? Thanks! (please note that this was a light-hearted response to Why so many Canadians and Brits on this site?)

I understand this is a parody of the "Why so many Candadians and Brits" question, but neither of these questions has any relevance to discussing parenting.

I'd like to know why there is a problem with American parents asking for advice?

(13 Nov '09, 15:27) mkcoehoorn

Yes it was a parody. @mkcoehoorn why is there a problem with Brit and Canadian parents asking for advice?

I don't think it really matters where any of us are from. Our gender also doesn't really matter, what matters is are common ground, and that is being a parent. The greater the mix of nationalities the more varied answers will be. This just feels like a global community of parents sharing experiences and helping each other.

@Meg I didn't say there was a problem with Brits and Canadians asking for advice. I like hearing solutions from other cultures. I just happened to come across this question first and thought it was a rather snotty question.

@mkcoehoorn ahh, that makes me feel better, because that's a bit like what I felt with finding the other question, hence asking this one.

Sounds like we're all due for some "motherhood lessons" - great article on supporting each other and celebrating our differences, rather than attacking others http://www.yummymummyclub.ca/motherhoods_lessons
