There is an "Old Wive's Tale" that if a mom-to-be has a lot of heartburn during her pregnancy, then her child will be born with a head full of hair. So let's put it to the test.

Did you have heartburn during your pregnancy(ies)? Did your child(ren) have hair when he was born?

For me, yes and yes - both times.

What about you?

Current Standings:

             | Hair | No Hair |
-------------------------------
   Heartburn | 12 | 4 |
No Heartburn | 9 | 1 |
-------------------------------

The totals are counted by the number of pregnancies reported, rather than the number of answers, since some moms reported different results with different pregnancies.

Currently looks like no heartburn is a better indicator of hair than the other way around. I've had some heartburn (first time ever in my life!) and am due in a month. I'll let you know whether ours has hair or not. :)

Looks like overall more babies are born with hair then no hair.

We finally had our little one. She has quite a bit of hair, but that was one of the indicators that she was overdue.

Yes and yes- both times. I had less heartburn with the child who had less hair.

I wish! Baby #1 - no heartburn, no hair. Baby #2 - heartburn, no hair.

I guess I just grow bald babies. My oldest is 2 1/4 and still doesn't have much hair yet... what I would give to put a barrette in her hair!

I was bald until I was two. My parents have a picture of me with a Christmas bow (the kind with adhesive strips that you stick to presents) stuck to my head.

Zero heartburn both times and 2 heads full of hair.

I had heartburn only in the 1st 6 weeks of pregnancy, but I think that was probably more to do with the fertility drugs I was on. After that, no heartburn at all and our little one has so much hair that once she got to 4 months, we have to pin her hair back now as her hair gets right into her eyes!

All 3 of us kids had masses amount of hair and our mother didn't get heartburn.

I had terrible heartburn for almost my entire pregnancy, but my little one had very little hair when he was born.
