The little picture next to my name seems to change on its own periodically. Is there a way to keep it from changing? I like the fractal-like images that are used, but I don't want my image to keep changing.

The fractal image is generated based on either your email-adress or your IP-adress using a service called Gravatar. My guess is that you haven't included an email-adress in your profile, so your IP-adress is used, and your IP-adress changes.

Click on your name at the top of this screen.
Click on "edit" at the top of your profile.
Click on Change Picture.

After that you'll have to sign up for Gravatar and associate it with your OpenID account. It's never been worth the trouble for me so I haven't done it.
