One of my baby's ears always folds whenever he turns his head, is feeding on that one side, or is sitting in the carseat. It's unavoidable... It already sticks out a bit more than the other ear- Will this constant folding cause it to stick out permanently when he's older?

I hate to give a non-answer, but this sounds to me like a great question for your pediatrician. I'm not sure you're going to get a useful answer (even with references) from somebody who isn't a doctor and hasn't actually seen your child's ear.

Agree, not sure how to answer this question... although I'd love to know the answer, just as I'd love to know when will I win the lottery :)

Good point- I guess I'll have to wait until my 4-month check up at the end of the month :)

Please report back with a follow-up comment, I think we're all curious about the real answer, too.
Also, I wouldn't be afraid to call or drop by the pediatrician to ask this, rather than waiting a month. Believe me, it's BY FAR not the most silly question they will get from over-anxious new parents.

My neighbor's 2yr old son has an ear that sticks out. He was turned down in the birth canal very early and so they think it was the pressure from that that made it stick out more than normal. His mom wished they would have taped it when he was younger, now they have to wait until he's 3yrs old to do surgery. But yes I agree, I'm sure your doctor will be able to better determine this.
