Do any other moms occassionally experience tenderness in the area of their episiotomy scar?

Oh yeah! I had episiotomies (and tore!) with both of my older boys, and the scars were tender for quite a while. Like, years (more than 2, less than say, 5?). But, it's one of those things where I can't tell you exactly how long, because the ouchie-factor went away gradually until I realized that it never hurt anymore and I wasn't sure when it had stopped.

I had a 3rd degree tear with my first as well. I tore a little bit with my second, but it wasn't as bad.
