Has your nephew's physician suggested that he's underweight?

My son could also be considered underweight. But the doctor said that his weight is proportionate to his height and he is healthy so it wasn't anything to worry about. So long as the child is healthy, eating regularly and his weight isn't out of balance for his height, I wouldn't worry about it. If you really feel that there is some thing wrong with the child, then have your brother discuss it with your nephew's doctor.

Remember that for an average weight and height to be calculated you need kids that are below average and above average.

My daughter (2) is on the 25 percental for weight and is on the 3% line for height. When I have had concerns about her eating as she can be fussy I keep track of her eating over several days and then I discover she is actually eating a reasonable balance diet.
