You do not need to register if you just want to ask or answer a question. You do need to register if you want to earn reputation which lets you vote, retag, and edit.

To register for moms4mom.com, click the login link at the top of the page. Rather than storing users and passwords ourselves, moms4mom.com integrates with OpenID accounts. Basically this is a new "login once, go to any site" technology. If you already have one (it will look like a web address starting with http:// your-username.your-provider.com /), then enter it into the text box on the login page (including the http://) and click the Login button. If you don't have one (or think you don't have one), keep reading...

Any website can become an OpenID provider. Many, like Google, Facebook, and Yahoo! already are. I've posted other answers below with instructions on:

If you don't have either of those, you can get a new OpenID by following this procedure:

That should give you an OpenID and it will look like a website address (http://...myopenid.com). You can use that on any OpenID site including moms4mom.com.

Logging in to moms4mom.com if you already have a Yahoo! account:

  • Go to the moms4mom.com login page
  • Click the Yahoo! image just below the login box (if you don't see the Yahoo! image, then maybe you have javascript disabled?)
  • This should take you to a Yahoo! sign-in page. If you are already logged in to your Yahoo! account, it will tell you that you're logging into moms4mom.com. Check the I have read... checkbox. Click Continue.
  • If you're not currently logged into your Yahoo! account, it will ask you to enter your email address and password. Note that this information is never sent to moms4mom.com.
  • You will be returned to moms4mom.com and you will be asked if you want to create a new account linked to this OpenID.

NOTE: Since Monday, some users are encountering a problem where the OpenID provider returns you to moms4mom.stackexchange.com instead of moms4mom.com. If this happens, try manually changing your address to http://moms4mom.com/.
